As Western Pennsylvania begins to ease COVID-19 restrictions, the Tribune-Review talked with QualDerm-affiliated physician, Jeffrey Thompson, DO, about re-opening his dermatology practice to patients. Dr. Thompson, founder of Dermatology Clinics of Westmoreland County, shared the many precautions he and his staff are taking to help ensure patient safety.
To help its affiliated practices mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19, QualDerm’s physician-led Quality Council and leadership team developed a 48-point safety checklist. These safety measures include, among other procedures, conducting staff, patient and visitor COVID screenings, requiring staff to wear face masks and instituting physical distancing protocols, such as limiting schedules and reducing waiting room capacity. Watch the TribLIVE segment to hear Dr. Thompson discuss other safety protocols his practice is following.
QualDerm’s Pennsylvania network also includes Zitelli & Brodland, P.C., Bikowski Skin Care Center and King-Maceyko Dermatology. In total, QualDerm currently has 44 practice locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
