Galax Dermatology Joins The Skin Surgery Center
It is our great pleasure to announce that on May 2, 2016, Martha L. Wilson, M.D. will be merging her Galax, Virginia-based dermatology practice with The Skin Surgery Center. Formerly known as Martha L. Wilson, M.D., P.A., the practice will operate under its new name, Galax Dermatology, an affiliate of The Skin Surgery Center, and will begin accepting private payer insurance as well as Medicare.
Dr. Wilson has worked with The Skin Surgery Center at its Greensboro office since August 2015, following a long career as a solo practitioner in the fields of pediatric, adult, cosmetic and surgical dermatology. She has also worked with The Skin Surgery Center’s physicians through referrals of her Virginia patients for Mohs micrographic surgery. Dr. Wilson has spent the 13 years prior to joining the Skin Surgery Center providing dermatology care for the residents of the Galax area of Southwestern Virginia. Before that effort, she had a thriving solo practice in Coral Springs, FL for 20 years. Dr. Wilson earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta, GA, and completed residencies in both Internal Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, and Dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida in Miami Beach, FL. She is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology.
Linda M. Laws, FNP-BC joins Dr. Wilson as a full-time nurse practitioner at the Galax office. Ms. Laws joined the Skin Surgery Center in July of 2015 as a Board-certified family nurse practitioner. She has been a registered nurse for 30 years and has a variety of experience with medical and surgical patients. She has been training with Dr. Wilson in Galax, VA, as well as the other dermatologists at The Skin Surgery Centers in Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Mount Airy. Ms. Laws earned a master’s degree in Nursing with magna cum laude honors from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing with summa cum laude honors from Radford University in Radford, VA. Prior to joining The Skin Surgery Center, Ms. Laws worked as an FNP with the Alleghany Health Department in Sparta, NC. She has experience with pediatric and adult primary care patients. Ms. Laws is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
