Dr. Richard J. Salomon, M.D. and Dr. Karen Trygg Wold, M.D., Board-certified dermatologists, who share a long history of providing exceptional dermatologic care for the patients of Hickory and the surrounding communities.
Since 1992, Hickory Dermatology has provided thorough and compassionate care to its patients, and its affiliation with The Skin Surgery Center will afford it the opportunity to offer additional services to its patients. Dr. Salomon and Dr. Wold have maintained long waiting lists for new patients for many years, but plans for the near future include moving to a new space and adding additional Mohs and general dermatology providers.
Dr. Richard J. Salomon has been practicing dermatology for more than 30 years and joined Hickory Dermatology in 1992. Dr. Salomon earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology from Albion College in Albion, MI. He completed a rotating internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Howell, Michigan and a residency in Dermatology at North Carolina Memorial Hospital. Additionally, he completed programs in Medical Mycology Program and Cutaneous Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Dr. Salomon is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Karen Trygg Wold has practiced with Hickory Dermatology since 1998. She brings more than 25 years of experience in general dermatology. Dr. Wold earned her medical degree from New Jersey Medical School in Newark, N.J. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Duke University in Durham, N.C. Dr. Wold completed residencies in Dermatology at The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa and Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Wold is a Fellow of the American Board of Dermatology and American Board of Internal Medicine.
