Pittsburgh Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center and Scott J. M. Lim, DO, Join QualDerm’s Network of High-Quality Dermatology Practices
BRENTWOOD, TN (September 26, 2022)
QualDerm Partners, a company that creates market-leading dermatology practice partnerships through affiliations and de novo development, today announced Pittsburgh Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center and Scott J.M. Lim, DO, have joined the company’s Pennsylvania network of affiliated physician-owned practices.
With these partnerships, QualDerm now has 11 affiliated practice locations in Pennsylvania. In 2018, QualDerm expanded its network into Pennsylvania through a partnership with Zitelli & Brodland, PC. Today, the company’s network includes 61 practice locations and centralized laboratory services across Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. QualDerm has plans to expand further.
Based in Monroeville, Pittsburgh Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center focuses on providing skin cancer care utilizing the most advanced treatments including Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery. Jeffrey Weaver, DO, a board-certified dermatologist and Fellowship trained Mohs surgeon, founded the practice in 1998. Dr. Weaver attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). He completed his dermatology residency at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, and a Mohs micrographic surgery/Dermatologic surgery Fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. His work has been published in Dermatologic Surgery. The practice’s clinical staff also includes Ericka Gibbon, MSPAS, PA-C.
“I chose to partner with QualDerm because of their reputation for quality and commitment to physician autonomy,” says Dr. Weaver. “I look forward to working with my QualDerm-affiliated colleagues to expand access to advanced, high-quality skin cancer care across Pennsylvania.”
Scott J.M. Lim, DO, has served patients in Erie since 1990, providing medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology care. His practice’s clinical staff also includes Lauren Senita, CRNP. Dr. Lim, a board-certified dermatologist, earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). He completed his internship in Philadelphia in addition to three years of specialized training in dermatology at the PCOM-affiliated Dermatology Center. Dr. Lim has served on the Board of the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery (PAD) and was elected as the organization’s President in 2019. He was presented with the Dermatologist of the Year Award by PAD in 2020.
“Throughout my career, I’ve worked to preserve the patient-physician relationship, promote patient safety and improve the way healthcare is delivered,” says Dr. Lim. “The QualDerm culture and partnership model perfectly aligns with this work. I’m confident that this partnership will further enhance my ability to care for patients and to help advance the practice of dermatology.”
QualDerm’s True Partnership model is designed to maintain physicians’ autonomy. Physicians hold leadership roles throughout the organization, serving on the physician-led Quality Council, the Board of Directors and Regional Joint Operating Committees.
“We’re honored that Dr. Weaver and Dr. Lim have chosen to partner with QualDerm,” says Bill Southwick, Chief Executive Officer of QualDerm. “Both of these physicians have provided their communities with high-quality care for decades. We’re eager to help them expand their services and grow their practices.”
